When the heat hits, all I want is a refreshing treat to cool down. But, let’s face it, frozen desserts in your typical run for groceries can be loaded with sugar (or worse, high fructose corn syrup or artificial sweeteners like aspartame) and food colors that nobody needs. Why bother when it’s so easy to make your own sugar free popsicles with real fruit? These are the perfect guilt-free, nutrient-dense summer treat for the whole family. My kids can attest!
With only 3 simple ingredients and a 5-minute prep time, you can cool down and quench your thirst without any guilt. (They happen to be keto popsicles, too.)

My Besti Powdered Monk Fruit Allulose Blend is the secret ingredient to making these classic frozen ice pops sweet, yet totally natural. It dissolves effortlessly, provides the same great taste as sugar, and prevents the sugar free popsicles from becoming too hard or gritty.

Ingredients & Substitutions
This section explains how to choose the best sugar free popsicles ingredients what each one does in the recipe, and substitution options. For measurements, see the recipe card below.
- Fresh Berries – Berries make up the base of these sugar free popsicles! They taste great, and don’t need any weird fake colors, guar gum, maltodextrin, or other weird ingredients for sweetness or color. Use your favorite combo such as blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, and/or blackberries to make your favorite flavors. You can also swap fresh berries with any frozen fruit. If using frozen, defrost for 30 seconds in a microwave. You might also need to add extra 1-2 tablespoons of water to help blend these keto popsicles easily.
- Lemon Juice – Helps keep popsicles fresh, preserves the color, and brings out the sweetness. Store brands use citric acid to achieve this. I used bottled lemon juice for convenience, but you could use 1-2 fresh lemons for an even brighter taste. You can also swap lemon juice with lime juice. Any other citrus juice (like orange juice) will work, but others will be higher in sugar.
- Water – If you don’t mind extra natural sugar, you can swap plain water with coconut water.
- Besti Powdered Monk Fruit Allulose Blend – This perfect powdered sweetener creates the smoothest texture in your popsicles, without the sugar spike. Unlike other sugar substitutes (which includes anything that contains erythritol — including most brands of monk fruit and stevia), this one won’t leave a gritty texture and keeps the ice pops from getting rock hard in the freezer. You can also replace it with zero sugar simple syrup for a comparable result. Use my sweetener conversion chart if you choose a different substitute.

How To Make Sugar Free Popsicles
This section shows how to make keto popsicles without sugar, with step-by-step photos and details about the technique, to help you visualize it. For full instructions, including amounts and temperatures, see the recipe card below.
- Blend. Add the berries, lemon juice, water, and powdered Besti to a high-powered blender and puree until smooth. Adjust sweetener to taste as needed.
- Assemble. Pour the mixture into popsicle molds. (I recently switched to these stainless ones and will never go back to plastic ones!) Add popsicle sticks. Freeze until completely set.

- Enjoy. Run under warm water to easily remove the sugar free ice pops from the molds.

VARIATION: Red, white, and blue keto popsicles for 4th of July or Memorial Day!
For a festive effect make one layer for each color:
- Red – Make 1/3 of the recipe using red berries only (strawberries, raspberries, or both) and fill the molds 1/3 of the way. Freeze for 30 minutes.
- White – Blend 2 cups of coconut cream with powdered Besti. Remove the molds from the freezer and fill an additional 1/3 of the way with the mixture. Freeze for 30 minutes.
- Blue – Make 1/3 of the recipe using darker berries only (blueberries, blackberries, or both). Remove the molds from the freezer and fill almost to the top. Freeze until solid.
Storage Instructions
Remove the sugar free popsicles from the molds and place into individual freezer-safe bags. (This is better than storing in the molds long-term, to prevent freezer burn.) Store in the freezer for up to 6 months.

Elba Scarano
0I used frozen mixed berries because I didn’t have blueberries and found the mix too sweet and dense. I wonder what I did wrong.
Lyn
0Hi. First time to your site and already it looks good to eat!
Ok. questions about an ingredient needed for Easy Sugar – Free popsicle -Blueberry Lemon.
What is Full-Fat Coconut Cream? Is it actually a cream, or is it a powder? Any ideas about who makes it? If I can’t find, can iI substitute something else? I’d rather get the recommended, though. Just don’t know a brand.
Wholesome Yum M
0Hi Lyn, Coconut cream can either be purchased off the shelf as canned coconut cream or you can get it from a can of full-fat coconut milk. If you use canned coconut milk, you will need to refrigerate the unopened can overnight. When you are ready to make the recipe, open the can and scoop out all the solids from the can – that is the coconut cream. Feel free to save or discard the coconut water at the bottom of the can. Best wishes!

0Also, if you’re having a hard time finding it in the store, check over by the Asian foods.
Sandy
0Love these!
Carri
0I’ve been wanting to use my frozen cranberries I’ve had way too long in my freezer. Do you think they would pair well in this recipe in place of the blueberries? They are lower in carbs and so good for you.
Wholesome Yum M
0Hi Carri, Cranberries should work, but you will want to cook them first, then strain the seeds and solids out. Also, you may need to adjust the amount of sweetener, depending on how tart your berries are.
Yoonmi K
0Thanks for the recipe! Can I use raspberry or strawberry berry instead of blueberry you think?
Wholesome Yum M
0Hi Yoonmi, Yes!
Bon
0The recipes are easy and full of flavor. These are great for the heat of summer. However, you’re website is not nice to iPads. It has too many pop ups and while they
Load, the screen jumps and I lose my place. Over and over. Very hard to use. When I do get a chance to print a recipe, they’ve been delicious.
Took me 8 times to get this written due to screen reloads. It’s so irritating that I don’t use your site as much as I would like.

0If I wanted to make these popsicles, do I have to use coconut cream, or can I use another cream? Thank you, Pam
Wholesome Yum M
0Hi Pam, You can use coconut cream or any other cream you prefer.
Erika Shupe
0Do we use just the cream from the can, or mix the water and cream together first…?
Wholesome Yum M
0Hi Erika, Coconut cream is just the solids from the can. Don’t mix it with the coconut water.
Jo
0I was wondering if you could sub almond milk instead of coconut cream. Or does it need to be a cream like heavy whipping cream ?
Wholesome Yum D
0Hi Jo, This recipe has been updated and no longer includes coconut cream. You can find the old one and other popsicle recipes in the free Wholesome Yum app.
Cherie Hatt
0Can you use frozen berries?
Wholesome Yum M
0Hi Cherie, Yes! That will work great!
Ditk DARNELL
0Why oh why do people make videos with bad music playing and no words from the person making the food? I want to see and hear your voice. I can’t watch this video.
Wholesome Yum M
0Hi Ditk, I am sorry you are unhappy with the style of video. The videos are intended to provide a visual guide to the recipe in a quick reference format. This way you can see crucial things like consistency and texture when baking or cooking.
Jamie
0Can I make this without molds? I would also like to tell you I am just venturing into keto, and I am obsessed with your site. I’ve decided anything I could dream up, I can find here. The biggest problem is deciding which ones to try first. Well done and thank you!
Wholesome Yum M
0Hi Jamie, Thank you so much! I’m sure you could get creative and find other ways to mold popsicles with regular household items. Alternatively, with a little work you could make this into granita.
